Ableton Note needs work! LOTS of it!

Hey there!  Happy new year!!  Not sure who actually reads these, but i'm really just writing this to vent...

For YEARS I, and I'm sure a ton of others have been waiting for Ableton to do ANYTHING at all on iOS.  Despite my love and preference for Android, i do still own an iPad because the best music apps live in that ecosystem for whatever reasons.  Finally this past year, Ableton drops "Note".  Essentially a "sketchpad" of sorts to get ideas down.  Sounds great in theory.  Then when you want to use a MIDI controller to play in some melody, you find out... wait... that's not an option.  So everything needs to be tapped in manually to the beat... why not use a sequencer you ask?  Doesn't have a step sequencer!  Then the final kick in the pants is when you want to export stems out.  Only does a single file of your scenes.  So unless you're using Live, you have to record all that into your DAW manually, one at a time.  If you are using Live however, the option to use Ableton cloud, or any cloud for that matter, allows you to bring the Note project file into the Live project for further editing.

If you ask me, the most important parts of "sketching" ideas are what's missing here.  Not everyone can finger drum, so step sequencers are CRUCIAL.  Not everyone likes playing in synths and pads on a touch screen, so you would think MIDI controller support would be a given. The stems issue I understand as them pressuring you to use Live for the further edits, so that kind of makes sense despite the annoyance.  Another feature that could be nice is a basic version of sampler.  Who wouldn't want to play with slices of break beats?

As of now, in my humble opinion, Note is not worth the $8 i paid for it.  For just $2 more you can get the Flip sampler app or Koala, and have SOOO many more options for creativity... and ZERO issues exporting stem
s or using MIDI controllers.
